Inspiration Sunday: Hillary Scott

Most of you know her from the hit country music group, Lady Antebellum, but there is a personal side to Hillary Scott that few have known. A devout Christian who grew up in a musical family, Hillary's roots run deep. Her mother, Linda Davis, is a Grammy award-winning artist who performed the hit duo, "Does He Love You," with country queen, Reba McEntire, and has had a string of great albums to her own credit.

Together, along with Hillary's dad, Lang, and sister, Riley, the Scott family has just released an amazing album of inspirational songs and hymns, including the first single, a song titled, "Thy Will," which Hillary wrote after suffering the loss of a miscarriage.

I chose this song to start off my new weekly post for Inspirational Sundays because there is so much chaos and nonsense going on in the world that it's easy to become overwhelmed by it all.

Sometimes we can only deal with our little world, and don't have the strength to shoulder the weight of others. So often we feel we have to be the strong one and hide our own insecurities or vulnerabilities in order to protect ourselves from further pain.

But, God sees you as you are, and He summons you to Him, saying, "come unto me all who labor and I will give you rest."

Life doesn't always make sense. More often than not, even God sometimes doesn't make sense to our finite minds. But, like any good parent, He beckons us to trust Him even when He doesn't make sense. "Thy Will" is a reminder of how life can overwhelm us but when we trust in the Lord, He works all things together for our good.
