People Like Being Sick

Most illnesses are two-thirds mental and one-third reality.
Granted there are those who are chronically ill due to very low immunity as well as terminally ill patients. And I'm not talking about debilitating diseases or those with disabilities.
Generally speaking you will notice that the reality of sickness for the average person, who doesn't fit into one of those categories, is often overshadowed by their attitude and personality.
Most terminal or disabled people I have encountered face their challenges with courage, faith and a positive attitude, even during the darkest hours of their pain. Most are warriors with determination to press on and make the best of their situations.

On the flip-side of the coin, there are those who consider a basic cold a life-threatening death sentence! Or at least they act like it.
Let's face it, people actually enjoy being sick!
However, illness isn't really the issue at all!
While some basic symptoms can most certainly evolve or reveal a far greater health issue, most people enjoy the attention that comes from others' empathy during their pain. Hence the reason they actually enjoy being ill.
And the medical field thrives on "sick" people. After all, that's how they make their money. The more prescription drugs you sell, the more patients you see, the more money you make - it's a business.
Sure, there is the argument that most doctors and nurses actually do care about the well-being of their patients and it's not all about the money for them, and I would agree.
However, many of them, due to true compassion and empathy, have become part of a system that, when all is said and done, is about profit.
Take, for instance, Martin Shkreli, the 32-year-old CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, a company he founded that re-introduced a decades-old drug used to treat infection, and he raised the price from $13.50 per pill to $750 per pill, which resulted in him becoming a multi-millionaire. Recently, Martin was arrested by FBI agents for securities fraud and other charges.
He is but one example of drug companies gouging consumers by over-pricing medications.
Yet, people flood emergency rooms and doctor's offices on a daily basis, with symptoms that can be prevented or treated with far less expensive alternative options - such as natural supplements.
There is a place for medicine. Not all natural supplements will cure all diseases or issues. I get that. And I do partake of traditional medicine when needed, and am thankful for those who find cures and create products and services. After all, if someone breaks an arm, no amount of nutritional supplements is going to fix that issue.
What I find most intriguing is that people will flood doctor's offices to beg for artificial chemicals that more often than not have a plethora of side effects, but will completely ignore the natural substances created by God - Who, after all, IS the Creator of the universe and of YOU, so I imagine He knows a thing or two about your wellness and how to help it.

For a couple of years now, I have endorsed a nutritional health company called Plexus. And trust me when I say I have taken a ton of over the counter supplements, and have a drawer full of unused prescriptions that I never used because the natural supplements took care of the problem.
But, when I share Plexus with others, their immediate response is to be defensive. "Is it FDA certified?" "It's too expensive!" "What if it doesn't work?" Their skepticism reveals to me their lack of knowledge and lack of faith. It's truly an indictment against themselves! Why?
Because first and foremost the FDA doesn't certify natural supplements. And thank God, they don't! Since when has ANY government-run branch in recent history actually done something great for the American people without screwing it up? That's a whole other argument for a different Dr. Phil show.
And the claim it is too expensive is ridiculous! Sure, it can cost you around $100 per month for the most popular Plexus package. But, guess what? Before I took Plexus, I developed a kidney stone and ended up in the E.R. where they did a C.T. scan, and prescribed 3 different prescriptions - totaling around $350. Then, when I got the bill for the visit, it was over $11,000.00!!

Needless to say, I didn't fill the prescriptions. Instead I found out that Plexus had a multi-vitamin that contained aloe vera. Aloe vera has been known to treat and even dissolve kidney stones. So, I immediately started taking it.
Within a couple of weeks, not only did my pain subside, but I apparently passed the kidney stone without any pain or knowledge. The doctor forewarned me that passing it would be the equivalent of the pain a woman would incur giving birth without anesthesia, so he prescribed a pain killer for when that moment transpired. But, I never had to take it because I'm convinced the Plexus multi-vitamin with Aloe took care of the problem.
So, my "expensive" multi-vitamin ended up costing me .4 % less than the entire E.R. visit. Granted, insurance paid for the majority of the bill, BUT, for the out-of-pocket portion, I could have purchased an entire year's worth of Plexus products.
And what if it doesn't work? Well, ask the tens of thousands of customers who have stories just like mine if it works. Or, better yet, try it and if "it doesn't work," Plexus offers a 60-day money-back guarantee.
So, the better question to ask yourself is "What if it DOES work?" What do you have to gain if it DOES do what I say and others say about it? Hmmmmm. Maybe you won't be able to use sickness as an attention-getter anymore. But, at least you'll have something to brag about!
